No need to reinvent the wheel

At Xams, our preferred ERP platform is Microsoft Dynamics. Since Dynamics is a Microsoft product, it already offers out-of-the-box possibilities to connect to other Microsoft products. Just think of Outlook, SharePoint, Office, Power BI, Flow ...

Despite this versatility, there are still a lot of specific things that Microsoft Dynamics still lacks to complete the picture. These are often matters that are specific to the legislation of certain countries. There are two ways to fill in these gaps in the software.

1. Either extend Microsoft Dynamics with custom code
2. Or trust in external Best of Breeds solutions through integrations

The first approach sounds tempting, but requires a lot of work and often the wheel is reinvented. It is also quite difficult to predict how custom code reacts to updates from Dynamics. The second approach, on the other hand, is much more forward-looking, and is the way Xams likes to work. Here we keep the ERP as standard as possible and rely on solutions from experts in certain niches (also known as Best of Breeds solutions) in order to achieve a coherent and high-quality overall solution.
